Folksy Summer Exhibition 2023

We’re delighted to have been be selected for the first annual Folksy Summer exhibition. Put together to celebrate the talent and craftsmanship of UK makers.

We are in excellent company with a wide selection of makers using a vast range of different materials and techniques.

Featured was our  recyled gold Ormer pendant –  A handmade ‘caricature’ of an Ormer Shell. This is our version of the Ormer, pared down to its beautifully simplified basic characteristics.

This pendant just looks so stunning when worn.

Baliwick Botanials

SULA Gallery – May 2023

We were delighted to be involved in the Bailiwick in Bloom exhibition. SULA Gallery’s Spring/Summer exhibition filled the gallery with floral imagery. Each artist created an artwork with a botanical element.

We created a new pair of our recycled plectrum earrings. The plectrums, cut from floral themed store cards have been embellished with rubies and finished with our signature sterling silver handmade ear hooks.

We’re loving using pinks and green together at the moment and this was a great opportunity to combine the two. The lush greens combined with the bold pinks creates a stunning statement that stands out when worn – and of course when displayed in a frame. They might be small but they have the presence of a pair of statement earrings.

Puffin Parade 2023

Puffin Parade 2023

Puffin Parade 2023

We were so pleased to be invited back to paint a puffin for the 2023 Puffin Parade, after painting a goat for the Golden Guernsey Goat Trail in 2021. Our goat was called Bejulicully – learn more about her here.

The puffin parade is in aid of Autism Guernsey and the GSPCA. A whole flock of puffins have been painted by various businesses and organisations from around the island. All the puffins have been displayed in different locations around Guernsey.

You can download an app that you can use to hunt for all the puffins- those who find all the puffins are entered into a prize draw. Autism Guernsey invite app users to make a donation. More info about the app here and you can donate here.

We have been paired with sponsors – Island Health, who have been great to work with, and neatly tying in with our own values around art and colour for mental health. The turquoise is one of their brand colours, perfect for a puffin.

The intricate hand drawn patterns are inspired by lichens –  our reference photos were taken from the puffins’ winter home, Iceland, on a trip in the summer of 2022.

In Sept the puffins will be auctioned off and will go to their forever homes. All proceeds will go to Autism Guernsey and the GSPCA.

Rebirth – Harbour Gallery 2023

Rebirth  –  Harbour Gallery April 2023

Green and Purple Beaded Statement Necklace

The rebirth exhibition commemorated the re-opening of the Harbour Gallery in it’s new location at 19 The Quay beside the old St.Helier Harbour.

We were overjoyed to be asked to come back and display our work in their amazing new space. It has been a pleasure to display and sell our work with them the past few years.

Inspired by the theme rebirth and the exhibition opening in spring time – we submitted a set of three necklaces that remind us of the colours and textures of spring.

They give us the feeling of just having had breath of fresh air, surrounded by soft greens and pops of colour from wildflowers.

St.James Concert Hall – November 2022

We are delighted to be a part of Guernery Art Network’s annual exhibition at StJames Concert Hall.  This exhibition will run from 31st October to 8th December in St.James Stairwell exhibition space.

We also displayed a piece in the 2020 Joy exhibtion also at St.James , you can learn more by clicking here.

This year’s we reprised an old favourite of ours. This peice is title “Butterflies around a hole” .  Inspired by the migration of the monarh butterfly and our impact on the planet changing the time of their migrations.

Each butterfly was cut from recycled packaging and paper, the patterns from which create the marking on the  butterflies wings.
