We’re delighted to be selected for the first annual Folksy Summer exhibition. Put together to celebrate the talent and craftsmanship of UK makers.
We are in excellent company with a wide selection of makers using a vast range of different materials and techniques.
Featured was our recyled gold Ormer pendant – A handmade ‘caricature’ of an Ormer Shell. This is our version of the Ormer, pared down to its beautifully simplified basic characteristics.
This circle and star pendant was created as a bespoke commission. A gorgeous beaten circle pendant with three hand cut silver stars. The circle represents the mother and the three stars represent her children.
All washed up was the summer exhibition at the harbour gallery which opened 12 July and finished 2 September.
The theme for this project was ‘all washed up,’ all pieces had a connection to the sea, beach, cliffs etc.
“We are extremely excited about this exhibition and did not realise, when we set the title last September, just how topical it would be” – Harbour Gallery
We used recycled beach combed plastics in our designs for this exhibition.
This was right up our street, recycling is a huge part of our ethos. Since the recycling exhibition at the crafts council in Islington in 1996 recycling has been at the forefront of our design process. We use recycled materials daily in our jewellery and we recycle as much as we can in the workshop, repurposing whatever we can. Much of our display material is recycled as is our packaging, which is also recyclable.
The reflections of occupation exhibition took place in 2018.
Guernsey was occupied by the German forces for most of the Second World War, from 30 June 1940 until the “liberation” on 9 May 1945.
This theme was chosen by Visit Guernsey to coincide with the film, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society which was perfect for us with our range of Potato Peel Jewellery which was displayed in the Greenhouse Gallery at the Guernsey Museum at Candie.
