We are excited to show our submission for the FOX ART competition. We weren’t selected for the exhibition – but we love the piece anyway.
This piece is called Friends That Leave – a collage/mixed media/painting/performance piece involving collaged elements glued to a canvas, and then being forcibly removed.
Inspired by Guernsey and it’s population management policies – and the inevitability of losing friends as life moves and changes.
This fabulous friend paid a visit to our studio to have her makeup done for the goat trail. She was adorned with jewel like colours and covered in hand drawn silver mandala motifs. A true labour of love.
Organised by the charity Autism Guernsey, our goat was sponsored by Ocorian and was on display with 51 other fibre glass goats around the island for the summer, before being auctioned off at St Pierre Park Hotel on 25th September.
Our goat was called Goatzart Bejulicully, named after our favourite elephant. She raised £1000 at auction for the charity.
The map of the trail and the quiz were available both on the Golden Guernsey Trail website and on their app.
You can find more infomation on the goat trail on their website.
The “Changing Surfaces” exhibition opened on Friday 23rd February at The Harbour Gallery in St Aubins, Jersey. This was the first major exhibition of 2017 at the gallery and was timed to celebrate the one year anniversary of it’s grand reopening after the damage from the tragic fire at neighbouring Gallichan Marine in December 2015. My pieces for the exhibition were delayed by pesky fog (part of island life) on their way to – and then again also from the London Assay Office, but finally found their way to Jersey in the nick of time for the opening. These sterling silver cuff bangles have varying surfaces, made by milling, stamping, planishing and engraving. Many thanks to Pat and all the Harbour Gallery team.
The Small Pictures Exhibition, hosted by the Guernsey Art Network as part of the Skipton Art Festival 2016 was held at the Folk and Costume Museum, Saumarez Park. Housed in one of the old stables which lent a quaint atmosphere to this eclectic exhibition. Contributing artists were invited to enter pictures not exceeding 12 inches square with an open theme.
This peices is a part of our butterflies around a hole collection – this addtion is made from Bombay Sapphire packaging from our collection of found materials that we have built up over the years.
