Recycled Silver Ormer Pendant

Description

This is a handmade ‘caricature’ of an Ormer Shell. This is my version of the Ormer, pared down to it’s beautifully simplified basic characteristics.

Handmade by Athene in recycled sterling silver and then cast from Athene’s own resulting mould, each one of the cast pieces is then worked into by hand to create detail and individuality. No two of these will ever be identical and the imperfections and idiosyncracies of the handfinishing process are design elements in their own right to be celebrated.

• Metal: Solid Recycled Sterling Silver
• Also available in 9ct and 18ct Gold on request
• Hallmarked at the London Assay Office
• Overall length including jumpring is 25mm approx
• Supplied on a cotton cord – knot to your desired length. There are no fastenings

About our Ormer Shells

• Ormers are native to the Channel Islands and are a protected species
• Collecting them from the shore at this size is prohibited
• Our shells were sourced from the Rocquaine Ormer farm in Guernsey – now closed due to retirement
• These little shells are much sought after
